There are a lot of software products that add an entry to you computer registry that allows them to start automatically each time you turn on your computer. Some of the are necessary - like antivirus software, backup solutions, sound drivers and so on - but others are doing nothing else but slowing your Windows startup.

You can disable these programs from running when Windows starts and run them later - when you really need them.

Here is how :

1. Go to Start ( Windows logo ) and type msconfig. Hit Enter

2. System Configuration window will show up. Go to Startup tab

3. Uncheck the Startup items you want to disable

4. Click Apply - OK

That's all!
