Find duplicate images on different criteria

PictMatch is a picture comparator - a program created to compare groups of pictures, finding duplicated images. It is highly configurable, so you can always make it fit your needs. Files can be compared exactly (byte to byte) or by similarity (approximate match). PictMatch has no adwares or spywares. PictMatch does not "phone home". If you like to organize your family photos, of if you like to download photos from Internet, PictMatch can save a lot of time and disk space for you.

The exact comparison is extremely fast, while the similarity comparison lets you identify photos that are visually equal, but differ in compression rate, format, resolution, contrast and so on. You can even ignore logos when comparing! Files can have different types (jpg compared to png, for example). When detecting a match by similarity, the program is smart enough to try to keep the pictures with better resolution, better contrast and much more - you decide.

You can maximize the matches window, to see the photos side by side with better resolution. You can also zoom the photos for maximum detail. When zoomed, photos can be scrolled to allow seeing any part of them. You can rename the duplicate files in many ways, move them to a folder or simply delete them. Based on the results of the comparisons, the program can execute the indicated actions immediately or write them to a BAT file, for later execution.

• Can automatically group visually similar files in separated subdirectories, making it easier to organize them later .
• Can combine many different file masks in a single search, so you dont have to remove the PNG files from the directory if you want to search only JPG and BMP.
• Optional individual settings for hue, lightness and saturation tolerances, when comparing by similarity.
• Full evaluation mode with no limitations in any program functionality.
• Duplicated files can be erased, renamed, receive a new extension (default) or moved to a user-defined directory.
• Optionally preserves program settings between sessions. If you exit the program, when you run it again you dont need to set your personal options again. Or, if you prefer, you can disable this feature.
• Optional creation of a report telling what happened during processing, in three levels of detail. This report can be directed to a disk file, to the screen or both.
• The exact mode comparison works with all kinds of files, so it can be used to identify duplicates in non-picture files (like documents and animations). The similarity comparison accepts only pictures and works with the most common image formats available, like JPEG, BMP, GIF, PCX, PNG, ICO, TIFF, TGA or WMF.
