Jubler is a tool to edit text-based subtitles for your movies. It can be used as an authoring software for new subtitles or as a tool to convert, transform, correct and refine existing subtitles. You can edit the most popular subtitle formats as .SRT, .SUB, .TXT, .ASS, etc. You can verify them with spell checking.

Subtitles on videos can be is an useful thing for many viewers. When used, they allow those who cannot listen to recorded audio due to a lack of headset or speakers to still understand what is going on at any particular time, while in other videos they can both support those that are hard of hearing as well as provide highly valuable language interpretation for viewers attempting to understand a spoken language when they do not speak it themselves.

Being able to leverage many of the most popular subtitle formats, Jubler can easily create and export a large variety of subtitle files for use in compilers separately as needed while also editing existing files for personal use. This means users can quickly and effectively preview all subtitles in real time or through a design view, check spelling, allow for effective translating and even modify various styles of subtitles to provide users with different appearances at different times as needed. This means that you can not only create your own but also correct subtitle files that may be behaving improperly in a video or may have improper text displayed due to transcription errors.
Distributed under a liberal public license, the Jubler program is free for use by all users. All that users need is the latest version of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), MPlayer to view the subtitles they create or edit, as well as ASpell to check spelling and they will have a comprehensive tool free of charge at their disposal to use as they wish in assisting them in creating and modifying one of the most useful tools in video development ever created. |
