Download managers are a great innovation and a must-have installation for any heavy downloader. Download managers allow Web users to schedule downloads to be undertaken at a certain time of the day (so as to take advantage of off-peak speed bonuses or download quota exemptions), permit the user to pause downloads and speed up large downloads so that users will not be waiting all day for those big files to land themselves on the desktop. DownloadStudio, a shareware Windows program from Conceiva, sets itself apart from the rest by featuring a jam-packed schedule of extras and add-ons.

One stand-out feature of DownloadStudio is its flash download function. YouTube, Google Video and MySpace Video files cannot typically be downloaded directly from the content sites using an approved Web site function, but DownloadStudio offers a workaround to ensure that you will never be caught out without a function like this again! DownloadStudio permits the download of any .flv file from any Web site, and best of all, the application integrates with a wide range of Web browsers to allow the user to download .flv files straight from the browsers themselves!

DownloadStudio would most likely be the download manager of choice for laptop computer users because the application offers a ‘Web site download’ feature, allowing users to download an entire Web site for viewing later offline.
