SFTP client for Windows using SSH

WinSCP is an open source SFTP client and FTP client for Windows. Its main function is the secure file transfer between a local and a remote computer. Beyond this, WinSCP offers basic file manager functionality. It uses Secure Shell (SSH) and supports, in addition to Secure FTP, also legacy SCP protocol.

WinSCP is also available as a plugin to two file managers, FAR and Servant Salamander.

With the growth of the internet in today's modern society, more computers than ever before have become connected, sharing massive amounts of information on a daily basis between users. With hundreds of millions of individual computers connected through a global network and countless web pages being created each and every day many times finding a secure, reliable way to transfer data discretely between computers can be a difficult task at best to accomplish.

Thankfully, a time-tested effective alternate exists on the market: WinSCP. Designed to serve as a secure SFTP and FTP client, WinSCP works to securely and effectively transfer any file or data between one computer and a remote computer at some other location. This means that, unlike many other third party transfer systems available, WinSCP works to securely connect one PC to a distant system for secure transfers over the internet without needing to sacrifice any of your information's security along the way.
