Editor's review for Fontographer
With many different word processing programs available people have long had access to a number of different fonts for use, ranging from the classic Times New Roman to other, stranger font styles with little actual practice use such as Wingdings (unless you intend to use specific pictures rather than text in a particular context). Still, for many professional organizations and designers these are not enough. Not satisfied with simply using what everyone else in the world has access to many design companies and corporations alike develop their own specialized font formats for use in advertising, letters, scripts and even web pages.
Of course, in many ways, designing your own font style can be quite complicated, taking into account various character designs in both capital and lower-case format as well as bold and italic in addition to any other combination of numbers or symbols that may be needed. To that end Fontographer was born - designed to make the font creation and utilization process simple and effective for everyone who needs it.
Created with the designer in mind, Fontographer allows users to modify a number of different font formats in many different styles, including Type 1, Type 3, TrueType, Multiple Master and OpenType fonts. By utilizing a number of different editing and conversion techniques, Fontographer can develop fonts for these formats from scratch or even edit existing fonts for a basis of development in order to help springboard designers on their way to making their own unique text.
Additionally, the design of Fontographer allows for any fonts being developed to quickly and easily be used with a number of other programs, including FontLab Studio, ScanFont and TypeTool using FontLab's VFB format. This means that you can take your work from one development platform to the next in the editing stage without needing to go through a complicated process of exporting any designs into a final format and re-converting them into a usable editing file that can sometimes even cost you in terms of lost information that may not transfer over perfectly from one format to the next.
Fontographer's easy to use graphical interface means that it's simple and effective to editing many different font styles within the program itself as well, bypassing the necessity many other programs to utilize some other third party graphical program in order to develop a desired format. Additionally, the built-in editing software can even handle various metrics settings, meaning that users can quickly and easily even adjust these settings without needing other specialized editing tools.
In short, if you're tired of the boring old fonts that come standard in all word processors today or simply want to make yourself stand out more with your own particular format don't feel that you're stuck with either settling for what you have or opting for much more costly and time consuming editors - get a copy of Fontographer for yourself now and start developing your own fonts today.
After all, in today's highly competitive market where design and image is key to success every little detail counts.
