Hi I'm Billy from software review today I'm investigating the iMagic Inventory system. From the box it's designed to manage stock, customers and invoicing.

At first glance you're prompted to set up the system from a step by step wizard, this is handy to get to know the system quickly the last thing you want to do when using new software is configure it. Which can be hard to do anyway until you've used it for a while.

The interface is a nice simple design. I also like the way you can quickly move between the different main sections with the shortcut keys. Clicking on the main toolbar allows you to view Customers, Invoices, Reports or Create Invoice. You also have the option under that to create a new Quote.

Adding in Inventory is quite easy, you can manually add in items or import them from CSV files which you can export from Excel. Manually adding is quite painless, and you can choose which fields you want shown or not, and also define your own fields which is a big plus.

Items can be either physical or a "service", so if you charge per hour then you can add those into your invoice too. The basic difference is that with a service the number in stock is ignored.

Customer management is equally easy and while you'd not sit and enter in customers you can do that if you like. It's easier to build up a list of customers as invoices are entered, which is easy to do as it's automatic.

You can create either invoices or quotes. You can search for existing customers, which keeps them grouped together. You can add items from either a Bar Code or search for items on fields.

It's possible to override existing prices, choose from price lists or add discounts. Totals for the items are calculated as items are added. You can specify different tax rates, or an additional State tax.

All in all it's solid, does the job and is simple to use. For $199 it's also very reasonably priced. A 10-use demo available and you can purchase online for immediate delivery.
