Editor's review for OllyDbg
The OllyDbg is a 32 bit debugger at assembly level. It has very powerful capabilities for analyzing and understanding machine binary code. It is a freeware program which can be used free of charge for personal as well as commercial uses. You not only can use it but also alter or make changes to suit your specific requirements as long as you do so under the gamut of the General Public License of GNU. The capabilities of the OllyDbg program to analyze binary code make it very handy in cases where the original source code is not available. There are no cryptic commands since it is an intuitive interface. Its ability for analyzes of code includes ability to trace and recognize strings, procedures, constants, loops, switches, registers, tables and API calls. It possesses the ability to debug DLL files by loading them directly in the system. The OllyDbg helps location of routines by scanning object libraries and files. You are permitted to define labels as per your choice and place descriptions of functions as well as to insert comments.
The OllyDbg enables debugging of multi-thread apps and attaches itself even to programs that are in running mode. It is software enabling disassembling which can be configured and helps provide support to IDEAL and MASM formats.
