Porta is a practical, down-to-earth and trouble free generator for photo albums. It is also a freeware which enables the transformation of any directory of images into a painstakingly efficient photo album for the web. Porta is quite user friendly and quick. As compared to other programs which are similar, Porta is nearly faster by at least five to eight times. It produces web pages which are uncluttered and clean and are possible for fast loading and looking good on browsers which are latest and modern.
While you are installing the program, Porta will offer you the option of creating a short cut to the menu on the right click one. Porta requires you to locate the image directory initially for creating a photo album. Thereafter, the creation of an album is a very simple affair. All you have to is right click on a folder and also on the ‘start’ button. The albums created can be in either in .tiff or in .jpg formats. Porta also has the ability for effecting automatic alterations to the quality and size of the specifications while the album is being created. Then all processing action is taken over by the Porta program and instructions for next steps are displayed on your computer screen which you have to just implement. And viola, your photo album is whipped without any fuss!
The functions and programs include alterations and creations of various skins. You are also allowed to add the language of your choice with a request to inform of the same to the developer.
Porta looks very simple but its looks are ‘deceptive’ because it is a powerful generator for photo albums. The software is very comprehensive and very fast in loading high quality photo albums. Without taking much of your time, it is capable of transforming an image directory into an excellently and exquisite photo album. The constructed web pages which are spick and span will load rapidly and have sublime looks on all browsers. Porta allows you the option for production of an album in a combo Flash/HTML or only in HTML format. In the combo album of Flash/HTML, the Simple Viewer will power the Flash album and in the event that Flash is not available then the album in HTML will be displayed. The albums produced by Porta will be correctly displayed in SeaMonkey, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera.
Porta allows captions for images. The main captions can be inserted below the relevant image while minor ones may be depicted as tool tips hovering in the image. Porta also enables inclusion of images with high resolutions and also the images can be automatically rotated from orientation of EXIF. You also can have watermarks to ensure copyright and depict the name of the author. You can also have auto starts for photo albums which may have been placed in the root folders of the removable devices like the USBs or the CDs or DVDs.
